The Natives Inc. is a multidisciplinary firm offering a wide range of services that include consulting, restoration design, restoration implementation, landscape architectural services, and a wholesale nursery growing only Florida native plants.

Established in 1982 we have pioneered upland restoration work in scrub, sandhill, and flatwoods systems. We have also devoted many years to research and experimentation to develop effective methods for propagating and growing native species, including many rare and endangered species.

The firm includes four principals; Nancy J. Bissett (restoration ecologist, horticulturist, and botanist), William F. Bissett (landscape architect Fl Reg. #510), Sarah Kiefer (nursery manager, office manager), Paul Abel (restoration manager, equipment manger, physical plant manager). There are also 15-20 employees and crew leaders.

The Natives Inc., in an effort to perpetuate the unique native plants and native plant communities that occur in Florida:

• propagate and grow genetically diverse native plants,
• lead in the knowledge and techniques for upland ecosystem restoration,
• provide botanical and ecological consulting services, and
• offer landscape architecture design services utilizing native plants,

with uncompromising quality and a refreshing level of integrity.

NATIVE THINKING: Every plant is native to some place in the world. When it is moved beyond its normal range it is called an exotic. When a plant lives in its natural range and habitat it can grow and reproduce without outside aid. It is in balance with its surroundings. it is neither aggressive nor overpowered. In its own special place it is always a thing of great beauty.
